Judging GTB’s Simple Change Video Campaign

Friday, 27 July, 2018, saw cross-functional teams from GTB, Chief Executive, CSR-in-Action, Bekeme Masade-Olowola, and the Simple Change Big Impact Ambassador, Jumoke Olowokere, gather together in a beautifully adorned room in GTB’s head office to choose 40 best 1-munite videos out of over 400 video entries submitted to GTB’s various social media handles.

The Simple Change Big Impact challenge is a CSR initiative of GTBank aimed at funding dozens of innovative ideas designed and executed by members of the general public. The initiative aims to give N1Million each to 20 members of the public who in 1-minute videos can explain the social challenge in their community and how they will solve this challenge in 5 days with the N1Million they hope to receive from GTBank’s Simple Change Big Impact challenge.

The challenge required participants to upload their 1-minute videos to Facebook, Twitter or Instagram between July 11 and July 25 with the Hashtag #SimpleChangeBigImpact. As soon as the challenge commenced, more than 200 participants pitched their projects via social media – showing love for their community and neighbours, and their immense gratitude for the opportunity to impact their community positively with the help of GTBank’s Simple Change Big Impact initiative.

The selection criteria for each video were creativity, relevance, uniqueness, impact, feasibility, sustainability and community involvement in executing the idea, within the stipulated timeframe of 5 days.

The 40 participants who made it past the first phase of the challenge will be informed of their progress via GTBank’s Facebook, Twitter and Instagram handles. The 40 participants will also be posted on the GTBank website.

In phase two of the Simple Change Big Impact challenge, the public (following GTBank’s social media handles) will vote for the top 20 participants who will receive N1Million each from GTBank to execute positive change in their communities and enrich the lives of the people there. The 20 winners will be announced on August 10, 2018, on all GTBank social media platforms.

GTBank hopes to invest directly in the social infrastructure of at least 20 communities nationwide with the Simple Change Big Impact Challenge. The idea is that people can do simple things to create a huge impact in their ecosystem.
